Sonia Raja is the Managing Director and Lead Consultant at Vici Consulting Limited. She has over 20 years of strategy, supply chain and management consulting experience in Africa and Europe.  Sonia’s strengths lie in her work experience at every stage of the value chain from raw material production to retailer, across the breath of small family owned businesses to global leading corporates.

Sonia has recently returned back home to Kenya after over 10 years in Europe in various senior management positions in top multinationals. Her aspiration is to bring her knowledge of world class best practices to local SMEs to empower them with the right tools and support them to capitalise on the high economic growth and regional changes facing Africa.

As Head of Packaging with a portfolio of £1 billion at Tesco UK, Britain’s largest grocery retailer, she was also responsible for developing and implementing Tesco’s Sustainable Packaging Policy with 6,000 suppliers world-wide to drive recyclability and cost savings.

Sonia has also held buying positions with McCormick Europe and Unilever Kenya delivering on procurement and supplier management strategies, training, operational restructuring and cost reduction programmes. As a strategy consultant with Nestlé in Switzerland she was involved in devising global strategies for Nestlé’s coffee portfolio.

Coming from a family business background, as well as being an ISO 9002 Auditor, she is well placed to understand lean management process controls across all businesses.
